In May 2025, the China Auto & Motorcycle Africa Alliance was officially launched, marking a shift from individual competition to coordinated, ecosystem-based expansion. At the 7th Western China International Fair, Chongqing-based companies signed RMB 1.65 billion worth of agreements with partners in Nigeria, Rwanda, Kenya, and other countries, covering complete vehicle assembly, CKD supply, and after-sales service networks.

Leading Chinese brands including APSONIC (Decheng Group), Wanhu Industry, and Sanya Motors continued deepening local presence: APSONIC became the only motorcycle brand to sponsor three consecutive Africa Cups (2023/2025/2027), operating in 11 East and West African countries with over 80% local staff; Wanhu Industry established 8 service centers in Africa with 24-hour support, shortening delivery lead times to 30 days, and its three-wheel motorcycle exports to Africa rose 60% YoY in the first three quarters; Sanya Motors organized roadshows in Benin and Tanzania, strengthening free maintenance and dealer training programs.

Industry observers note that China–Africa motorcycle cooperation has evolved from basic trade to a full-value-chain model: product exports, technology transfer, local assembly, and service networks. The Alliance will further promote resource sharing, joint distribution, and standard alignment, supporting more Chinese brands to achieve localized roots and brand upgrading across Africa.
