In 2025, China’s motorcycle exports to Africa achieved a historic breakthrough, reaching 5.96 million units, up 59.09% year-on-year, with an export value of USD 3.18 billion, an increase of 63.52%. Africa became the fastest-growing region for Chinese motorcycle exports and a core growth engine.

Data shows that China’s total motorcycle exports in 2025 reached 18.23 million units, of which Africa accounted for 32.7%, making it the second-largest export destination. Its growth rate outpaced traditional markets such as Latin America and Southeast Asia. The best-selling models are mainly 100–150cc motorcycles, valued for their durability, fuel efficiency, and low maintenance costs—ideal for Africa’s rough road conditions and demand for personal transport and logistics.

The African motorcycle market is valued at around USD 3.68 billion and is projected to reach USD 6.51 billion by 2030, with an annual growth rate of nearly 10%, reflecting strong long-term potential. As urbanization, a growing middle class, and demand for logistics and ride-hailing services expand, Chinese motorcycles—backed by cost advantages and a mature supply chain—are expected to further increase market share and advance China–Africa industrial cooperation in transportation.
