The report shows that post-90s and post-00s have become the core group of two-wheeler consumption, accounting for 70%. Compared with post-70s and post-80s, young consumers pay more attention to intelligent configuration, appearance design and social attributes, promoting the transformation of the two-wheeler market from "practical orientation" to "trendy play orientation".
Survey data shows that when young consumers buy cars, the primary considerations are intelligent configuration (45%) and appearance design (30%), followed by basic attributes such as range and price. In the field of electric vehicles, intelligent functions such as NFC unlocking, APP interconnection, voice control and OTA upgrade have become standard configurations. The intelligent electric motorcycles launched by Segway-Ninebot can realize automatic following, remote start, anti-theft early warning and other functions, and became a popular choice among young consumers as soon as they were launched; Yadea and Niu Technologies launched personalized appearance models such as retro, mecha and minimalist, supporting customized modification to meet the personalized needs of young consumers.
In the fuel-powered motorcycle market, young consumers are more inclined to large-displacement recreational models. Young consumers account for 85% of models above 250cc. They pursue sound waves, handling and social attributes, and often participate in activities such as motorcycle travel and riding parties, promoting the transformation of fuel-powered motorcycles from means of transportation to "social trendy play". Brands such as CF Moto and Qianjiang have launched cost-effective large-displacement entry-level models for young consumers, with prices ranging from 30,000 to 50,000 yuan, reducing the purchase threshold for young consumers.
In addition, the concept of environmental protection is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. Young consumers are more inclined to choose electric models. 70% of young consumers said that they will give priority to new energy models when buying cars, believing that electric models are more environmentally friendly and convenient, suitable for urban short-distance commuting. At the same time, the popularization of shared two-wheelers has also cultivated the travel habits of young consumers, further promoting the consumption upgrading of the two-wheeler market.
The report points out that the demand iteration of young consumers will promote the two-wheeler industry to further develop in the direction of intelligence, personalization and environmental protection. Brands need to accurately grasp the demands of young consumers and increase technological and design innovation to gain an advantage in market competition.
